Passenger Dies After Car Crashes Into Tree in Perth Suburb of Como


A man has died and another has been seriously injured after a red Ford Falcon sedan lost control and struck a tree in Como during the early hours of Monday morning, April 6, 2026.

Emergency services were called to Hayman Road about 12:20 am following reports that the vehicle had left the roadway. Major Crash investigators allege the 45-year-old male driver lost control of the sedan before colliding with a tree.

Passenger Dies in Hospital

A 35-year-old male passenger was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital with life-threatening injuries but tragically died later on Monday afternoon. The 45-year-old driver remains in the same hospital being treated for serious injuries.

Major Crash investigators spent several hours on Monday examining the scene. They are now appealing for any witnesses, or anyone who saw the red Ford Falcon in the area prior to the crash, to come forward.

Series of Incidents Over Holiday Period

The fatal crash adds to a grim Easter holiday period on Western Australian roads. In a separate incident on Monday morning, a woman in her 70s was rescued by firefighters after her vehicle plummeted over a beach lookout in Jindalee. She was taken to Joondalup Health Campus for assessment and is in a stable condition.
