Woolworths Recalls Raw C Easter Coconut Water Nationwide Over Undeclared Milk Allergen

A popular Easter-themed drink sold at Woolworths stores across Australia has been recalled after authorities discovered it contains an undeclared allergen.

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) announced the recall of Raw C Easter Coconut Water in one-litre bottles due to the presence of milk, which is not listed on the product label.

The product has been available for sale both in stores and online nationwide and includes bottles with best-before dates up to and including June 28, 2027. While the Woolworths product page lists coconut milk as an ingredient in some descriptions, the lack of a clear dairy-milk allergen warning on the packaging triggered the nationwide alert.

The drink is marketed as a coconut water beverage flavoured to resemble “gooey caramel filled Easter eggs” ahead of the holiday season.

Health risk for people with allergies

Food safety officials warned the undeclared milk ingredient could pose a risk to people with milk allergies or intolerances. According to the NSW Food Authority, “Any consumers who have a milk allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if the product is consumed.”

Consumers who are affected are advised:

  • Do not drink the product.
  • Return it to the place of purchase for a full cash refund.
  • Seek medical advice if you have consumed the product and feel unwell.
